Day 4. Subject: [firstname], time hit the ground running! Hi [firstname], Now you've decided on your preferred social media sites, you've got your cover image and profile picture, and you've made sure you can get the same user name on all sites, it's time to start opening social media accounts. The exact sign-up procedure is going to vary from site to site, but all of them are going to give you the opportunity to customize your profile and put up some information about your background. Again, be consistent. Make sure you're not posing any information on one site that contradicts what you're posing on another. Getting the facts wrong can destroy your credibility. Sites like Twitter ask you to follow established members. Choose wisely. It's better to associate yourself with people (or businesses) who are leaders in your niche or market than to simply follow the popular celebrities you'll likely be presented with. This will tell others in your niche you're a serious player. You'll also need to give some thought as to what your first post on the site is going to be. Something introductory is fine. Bear in mind that not many people are going to read this right away, but when people DO start following you, lots of them will scroll back along your timeline to see what you've posted so far. Don't put anything flippant or something that's likely to make you look stupid later on. Ensure you start out as you mean to go on. BTW, if you're still unsure as to what social media sites you should be concentrating on - Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, all of them, none of them – I go into considerable detail about them in my social media guide. Grab you copy now from [link to sales page] Warmly, [Your Name] PS. Once you're signed up to your preferred social media sites, it's important you post consistently and maintain a presence. I'll explain why tomorrow.
